Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Signature Alloy Wheel & Body Repairs collects when you use this website or ask us for a quote, what we do with it and what rights you have over it. We are the data controller for that information.

What we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us, plus a small amount of technical data about how the site is used.

• Information you submit through the quote or contact forms: your name, phone number, email address, postcode, vehicle details and whatever you tell us about the repair.
• Anything you send us afterwards, such as photographs of the damage.
• Technical information generated by your visit: IP address, browser type, the pages you viewed and the site you arrived from.

We do not collect special category data, and we do not ask for payment card details through this website.

Why we use it and our lawful basis

• To answer your enquiry and quote for the work. Lawful basis: steps taken at your request before entering a contract.
• To carry out and guarantee a repair you book. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
• To keep records of work carried out. Lawful basis: legitimate interests in honouring our workmanship guarantee, and legal obligation for accounting records.
• To keep the website secure and understand how it is used. Lawful basis: legitimate interests in running a safe, working website.

We do not add you to a marketing list because you asked for a quote. If we ever want to send marketing emails we will ask you first, and every such email will carry an unsubscribe link.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We do use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf under contract:

• Our website hosting provider, which stores enquiry records.
• Resend, which delivers the emails sent by this website.
• Our email provider, where your enquiry lands in our inbox.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept for 24 months and then deleted. Records relating to work we have carried out are kept for six years, which covers both our workmanship guarantee and the retention period for accounting records under UK law.

Where your data is held

Data is stored on servers within the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area. Where a supplier processes data outside that area, we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or equivalent safeguards.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Have inaccurate data corrected.
• Ask us to delete data where we no longer have a reason to keep it.
• Object to, or ask us to restrict, processing based on legitimate interests.
• Ask for your data in a portable format.
• Withdraw consent at any time where we relied on consent.

This website sets only the cookies needed to make it work and to protect our forms from abuse. Our cookie policy explains this in full.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, enquiry data is stored in an access controlled database and forms are rate limited to deter automated abuse. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect what you give us.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and change the date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
